Katahdin-Dorper Hair Sheep
Hardy, Productive, Pasture-Raised
Our flock is raised under a regenerative grazing system. These sheep are selected for fertility, thriftiness, and resilience in a low-input system. Simply put, these sheep can go out there and make a living.
Highlights:
-
Breed: Katahdin-Dorper cross – known for parasite resistance, mothering ability, and quality carcass.
-
Management: 100% forage-based. Adaptive rotational grazing with diverse forages (180+ species). No grain finishing.
-
Health: Naturally hardy. We cull hard for fertility, feet, parasite resistance, and the ability to thrive on pasture without constant intervention.
-
Performance: Ewes lamb unassisted at less than a year old, raise strong lambs, and maintain condition on forage alone. Lambs finish well on grass.
-
Temperament: Calm, easy to handle, accustomed to frequent moves and low-stress management.
